11月3日讯 在滕哈赫下课后，范尼开始担任临时主帅。在他带队的首场比赛中，曼联5-2击败了莱斯特城。在接受采访时，达洛特也称赞了范尼，表示他有能力胜任这一职位。
在天空体育采访中，达洛特说道：“我认为他具备这种能力。但很明显，我无法做出任何决定，但在他担任助理教练时，我真的很喜欢他工作的方式。显然，他现在只是临时主帅，他有能力胜任这份工作，因为他以前担任过主教练。”
“所以他有能力兼顾这些，他知道如何做好每一部分的工作。如果俱乐部做出了决定，我会非常高兴让他留下来。我认为他显然在努力取得胜利，这对他来说是最重要的。”
